The details

Easier access, cleaner lines

The right running boards or steps make a lifted or tall truck far easier to climb in and out of — for you, your passengers, and the kids — while giving the vehicle a finished, purposeful look.

We install full-length running boards, tubular nerf bars, side steps, and power-retracting boards that tuck away while you drive. Everything is bolted to factory mounting points for a rock-solid, rattle-free fit that also helps shield your rockers from road debris.

Serving drivers across Windsor, Fort Collins, Loveland, Greeley, and Northern Colorado.

Choosing steps

Boards, nerf bars, or power steps?

They all make getting in easier. The right one depends on your truck's height, your style, and who's climbing in.

Running boards

A wide, flat platform along the cab. The easiest surface to stand on for kids, older passengers, and anyone in winter boots, with a clean, factory-style look.

Nerf bars

Round or oval tubes with step pads at each door. A sportier look with a slimmer profile. Cab-length bars cover the doors; wheel-to-wheel bars extend to the rear tire so you can step up and reach into the bed.

Drop and hoop steps

Individual steps that hang lower than a board. The best choice on leveled or lifted trucks, where a standard board would still sit too high to help.

Power running boards

They drop down when a door opens and tuck up when it closes, so you get a low step when you need it and a clean side profile when you don't.

Choosing for Colorado

  • Finish: magnesium chloride on winter roads is hard on bare steel. Aluminum, stainless, and quality powder-coated steel hold up best.
  • Step height: on leveled and lifted trucks we check the actual step height, so the step is useful, not just decoration.
  • Grip: textured treads help when boots are wet or snowy.

What to expect

  • We confirm your cab style — regular, extended, or crew — and match the length to your doors.
  • Boards and steps bolt to factory mounting points with the correct hardware.
  • Power boards are wired and tested with every door before you leave.
  • We do a final torque check and show you how to care for them through the winter.
Questions

Frequently asked

Do running boards fit lifted trucks?

Yes. We size steps and boards to your vehicle and lift height so entry is genuinely easier, not just decorative.

What are power (retractable) running boards?

Power boards automatically drop down when you open a door and retract when you close it — giving you a low step when you need it and full ground clearance when you don't.

Will they damage my truck to install?

No. We mount to factory attachment points with the correct hardware for a secure, clean install that doesn't compromise your vehicle.

Should I get cab-length or wheel-to-wheel?

Cab-length boards and nerf bars cover the doors. Wheel-to-wheel versions extend back to the rear tire, adding a step for reaching into the bed — handy if you load and unload a lot.

Do power running boards work in winter?

Yes, they are built for it. Ice, snow, and road salt can build up in the mechanism, so rinsing it off during the winter keeps the boards moving freely.

“Zach did a thorough and professional repair to the windshield of my 2019 Toyota RAV4 at a FRACTION of the cost I was quoted at Safelite. I will never go back to the “name brands” when an identical repair handled by an attentional-to-detail small-business is available. Very pleased!”

“My parents had their windows tinted at Adams Auto Restyling and highly recommended them, so I decided to bring my car in as well. Zach was great to work with and provided professional, high-quality service from start to finish. They tinted all the windows on my SUV, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. My vehicle looks sleek, and I’ve noticed a huge difference in heat and glare when driving in the sun. I was so impressed that I’ve already booked an appointment for a full interior and exterior detail, including a ceramic coating to restore the shine and protect the paint. Highly recommend!”
